MARTIN BOWERS, DIRECTOR
Martin is the director of Top Drawer Kitchens Ltd and has over 30 years experience in designing and fitting kitchens.
THE EARLY YEARS
From starting out in 1983 as an apprentice kitchen fitter at the age of only16, Martin worked for the largest kitchen manufacturer in Europe, The Bernstein Group PLC, installing their display and exhibition kitchens throughout the UK.
Martin quickly learned his trade and went on to employ his own team of 10 fitters by the time he was just 21, still working for Europe’s largest kitchen manufacturer.
CELEBRITY CHEF
During his time fitting display and exhibition kitchens in the UK, Martin and his team were entrusted to install anything from a one off exhibition kitchen in places such as Selfridges, The Gleneagles Hotel, The NEC and even a fully working kitchen at The Watershed Exhibition Centre in Bristol for “Celebrity” Chef Rusty Lee!
Martin and his fitting team regularly fitted as many as 35 kitchens and 20 bedrooms in just 2 weeks in many of the biggest DIY stores in Britain.
Martin was also very proud to be chosen to install the show kitchens, by his employer, The Bernstein Group PLC (who were Europe's largest kitchen manufacturer with a £350 million turnover at the time) which were used to showcase their products uniquely to many thousands of trade customers.
TELEVISION
Martin went on further to be appointed to fit the show kitchens at The Design Centre Photography Studio. Photographs of which were used in millions of kitchen brochures for many companies.
Martin’s work, as well as being photographed professionally, has also been featured many times on television.
JERSEY
Throughout this time Martin and his team fitted the display kitchens for The Bernstein Group PLC in many Jersey and Guernsey kitchen showrooms, including Beaumont Home Centre, Romerils and B&Q in Jersey, and also in Guernsey at B&Q and Quayside.
During his numerous times working in Jersey Martin fell in love with the Island and chose to move to Jersey permanently in 1996 when he was approached by Beaumont Home Centre to undertake their kitchen installations.
Martin has always had a fabulous reputation in Jersey and has fitted kitchens here for Beaumont Home Centre, Romerils, N Space, La Haute Cuisine, Lifestyle and B&Q. Fitting every style of kitchen ranging from a £1,000 flatpack to Hand Made Bespoke Kitchens over £100,000.
HOUSES
Over the past 10 years Martin has also been involved in renovating many local properties. Some working alongside local builders and fellow tradesmen and also many of his own projects.
On his very first property renovation, back in 2006, in under 12 months Martin had doubled the value of the property he purchased as a wreck by redesigning the whole interior and working with local tradesmen fitting it all out.
Following a few more very successful renovations Martin then went on to his most ambitious project to date. Purchasing a run down home situated on a fabulous plot with a very ambitious view to extending the existing house by more than 100% of its current size.
Planning Permission was granted for this, due to Martin’s design of the new extension and in keeping it subservient to the existing house, which was also fully renovated.
Once completed the house was re-valued by six of Jersey's Top Estate Agents, all of whom absolutely loved Martin’s design and the fabulous finishing touches.
During the valuation meeting with Broadlands Estates, their agent informed Martin of a potential purchaser who subsequently made an offer on the very first viewing which was accepted.
Once again this was a great success and Martin had increased the value of this stunning home by an amazing £1,000,000.

During the 20 years Martin has been living and working in Jersey he has fitted hundreds of beautiful kitchens, and also re-designed and renovated many run down properties.
Martin has also designed many kitchens throughout the Island, working closely with his clients and using his 30 years experience to create some stunning kitchens.
Following a very successful career Martin is now proud to offer a complete Kitchen Design, Supply and Installation Service. With his vast knowledge of all aspects of the trade and a real passion and flare for innovative design ideas Martin is proud to offer a complementary design service.
